Borsos Autumn Road Trip
September – October 2012
Ohio Edition

We arrived safely to Linda Borsos’s house on a Saturday night. Linda is our sister-in-law and she was our home base for all of our family outings while near Dayton, Ohio. We met and enjoyed visiting with her roommate, Donna, and her close friend, Tom, also.

The two weeks were spent viewing the Autumn colors in the surrounding areas, some shopping, sharing photos from the past years we’ve been apart, and mostly visiting with family and relaxing together. We enjoyed whatever the Lord had planned for us to be able to do. Carol got to worship at two different church services with family.

Additional family we enjoyed visiting with near Linda were our two niece’s, Angela and Amy. Amy is a single adult. We met and visited with her and her boyfriend Josh, several times.
Angela is married to Nathan and they have two adorable daughters, Brianna 7 and Alivia 5. We spent 3 days at Nate and Angie’s house which gave us some wonderful time with our grandnieces.
Some highlights of activities were going to 2 soccer games, having lunch at Brianna’s school for grandparent/special person’s day, and exhausting ourselves at the Neiderman’s family farm and pumpkin patch.
We got to see Linda’s parents, Richard & Connie at the soccer games.
Linda’s niece, Marissa, a senior in high school, had two volleyball playoff games we got to attend and cheer on their Raider team. It also gave us a chance to see two of Linda’s 3 sisters, Peggy & Sharon.

We drove just over the border into Kentucky with Linda for a day at the “Creation Museum”. This museum is a place unlike any other on the planet. It features scientific and biblical answers for the world we live in today through exhibits, films, artifacts, and scientists. If you’re interested in checking it out, here is their web site. www.CreationMuseum.org

Ron’s brother Rick and his wife, Lorna, live about 1 ½ hours from the Dayton area in New Richmond, Ohio. We spent an overnight with them. It is a very rural community along the Ohio River with a view of Kentucky on the other side of the river. There is a lot of U.S. history throughout Ohio. We stopped to see the birthplace of Ulysses S. Grant near New Richmond.

The two weeks seemed to fly by. It was such a joy to just relax with our family. Linda was off work all of the time we spent with her and we enjoyed two family meals with everyone. We sadly said our goodbyes and left early on a Saturday morning; traveling to Indiana to pick up our new travel trailer.

More on that in our next blog update.
